CARES Act and Unemployment

Last week on Friday, March 27th, 2020, President Trump signed a bill called the “CARES Act”. It is now a law. Unemployment benefits that impact freelancers are included in this law. People who qualify as freelancers are entitled to collect up to $600 a week in federal unemployment benefits. That is $600 on top of your state-level unemployed insurance benefit. This means you may qualify to earn up to $800-$900 a week in unemployment benefits.
